Education:

The Mariposa County Unified School District consists of 13 Schools with a total student population of approximately 2,360 students.  Mariposa County High School is a sustained California Distinguished School, and has a student population of approximately 640 students.  Mariposa Middle School, grades 7 - 8, has approximately 270 students, and is also a sustained California Distinguished School.  Seven elementary schools are located throughout the county and include six California Distinguished Schools, a CSBA Golden Bell Winner and a national Blue Ribbon Nominee.

Athletics:

Mariposa is very focused and supportive of the local schools and parents are also very involved in the athletic programs. Sports and other after school programs are extremely popular. Mariposa County Schools have produced many outstanding athletes that have gone on to play in college and professional ball. Mariposa also has a great non-school-related recreational program that includes youth soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball for children as well as adults.

 

Higher Education:

UC Merced is the newest University of California campus and is only 45 minutes away. As UC Merced continues to grow it will offer an ever expanding resource for cultural and educational opportunities to Mariposa County residents.
